The Accident of Hoover Dam

Out of the 112 accidental deaths at the construction site of the Hoover Dam, the first one occurred on the 20th of December in 1921. In the midst of the construction, the site got caught in a flash flood and the first casualty to be reported was John Gregory Tierney. And when after 14 years the dam had almost reached its finishing, the last casualty was reported yet again on the 20th of December and the man was Patrick William Tierney, J.G. Tierney’s only son.
